Langkawi is very beautiful & the water is much clearer than in Penang. Today has been pretty sunny. Today has consisted of eating, laying on the beach under palm tree and swimming when I get too hot.
I rolled out of bed this morning at 11 and grabbed some breakfast/lunch--mee goreng soup, a spicey noodle soup with chicken.
A melodramatic Malay movie was playing on the tv, followed by The Weatherman, starring a whiney Nicolas Cage.
Late lunch/dinner was at the "Padi Cuisine and Jimmy's Cafe", which had at least 15 "House Specialities." Pretty funny as the chapter I just read in Anthony Bourdain's book "The Nasty Bits" calls out an overextended menu as one of the signs of a bad restaurant. My lunch was prepared by a 13 year old boy, which just made me feel bad. The restaurant overlooked a rice paddy, which was a bit gimicky but also unique.

Well I'm glad your plans are unfolding. It's good to know you are staying in Langkawi for a few days. Wish we were there:) Eat more jack fruit for me and drink some tigers for Yi. Looking forward to seeing your future travels. Take care!
